One continuous, waterproof floor
Wetrooms
in London.
No tray, no upstand, no threshold. A wetroom is the most demanding bathroom to build correctly and the least forgiving of shortcuts.
What it involves
One continuous, waterproof floor.
In a wetroom the floor itself is the shower tray. That means the structural floor is dug out or built up to form a fall, a tanked deck is laid across the entire room, and every junction between floor and wall becomes a joint that has to be sealed and stay sealed. There is no upstand and no tray lip acting as a second line of defence. It is the reason wetrooms take longer, cost more, and should not be attempted by anyone treating waterproofing as an afterthought.
What is included
Every wetroom we build, as standard.

- Flood test before tiling begins

About wetrooms
Questions we are
asked most.
Will the whole room get wet?
No, if it is designed properly. A correctly placed screen, an outlet in the right position and a properly formed fall keep water in the shower zone. Rooms that soak are rooms where the fall was never really formed.
Can any floor take a wetroom?
No. Timber floors usually need strengthening or a deck build-up, and that has implications for door heights and thresholds. This is one of the things we check at survey before we commit to anything.
What is a flood test?
Once the tanking is complete and before any tiling, the outlet is blocked and the floor is filled with water and left. If the level drops, there is a fault, and we find it while it is still cheap to fix. Not everyone does this. We do.
